Learn how to create stunning movie grids, anime tier lists, and more

How to Create a Movie or Anime Grid

Step 1: Choose Your Grid Size

Start by selecting your desired grid dimensions. The classic 3x3 grid is most popular for social media, but you can create grids from 1x1 up to 8x8. Use the + and - buttons in the sidebar to adjust rows and columns independently.

Pro Tip: 3x3 grids work best for Instagram posts, while 4x4 or 5x5 grids are great for showcasing larger collections.

Step 2: Add Your Favorite Media

Click on any empty cell to open the search dialog. Search for movies, TV shows, anime, games, books, or music. Our database includes millions of titles with high-quality poster images. Select an item to add it to your grid.

  • Movies: Search by title, year, or director
  • TV Shows: Find any series from any country
  • Anime: Complete anime database with accurate posters
  • Games: Video games across all platforms
  • Books: Novels, manga, comics, and more
  • Music: Albums and artists

Step 3: Customize Your Grid

Make your grid unique with customization options:

  • Title: Add a custom title above your grid (e.g., "My Favorite Anime of All Time")
  • Labels: Choose between no labels, default titles, or custom editable labels for each item
  • Spacing: Adjust the gap between items from 0px to 40px for different aesthetics
  • Background: Select from preset colors or choose a custom color to match your style
  • Watermark: Optionally add your social media handle to the bottom right

Step 4: Export for Social Media

Choose your export format based on where you'll share:

Instagram

  • • Square: 1080x1080 (feed posts)
  • • Portrait: 1080x1350 (feed posts)
  • • Story: 1080x1920 (stories)

Twitter/X

  • • 1200x675 (optimal for timeline)

TikTok

  • • 1080x1920 (vertical video thumbnail)

Reddit/Discord

  • • 1200x800 or Auto-fit

Click "Copy" to copy the image directly to your clipboard, or "Download" to save as PNG.

How to Create an Anime or Movie Tier List

Step 1: Build Your Item Shelf

Start by adding items to your shelf. Click "Search Item" to find movies, anime, games, books, or music. You can also upload your own images or drag images directly from your browser into the shelf area.

Pro Tip: Add all your items first before ranking. This makes it easier to compare and organize them into tiers.

Step 2: Drag Items to Rank

Drag items from the shelf into tier rows based on your ranking. The default tiers are:

  • S Tier: The absolute best, masterpieces
  • A Tier: Excellent, highly recommended
  • B Tier: Good, worth your time
  • C Tier: Average, has flaws
  • D Tier: Below average, disappointing

You can add more tiers (like F tier for terrible) or remove tiers you don't need.

Step 3: Customize Your Tiers

Hover over any tier row to reveal customization options:

  • Drag Handle: Reorder tiers by dragging
  • Color Picker: Change the tier color
  • Label Editor: Click the tier label to edit text
  • Delete: Remove tiers you don't need

Click "Add Row" at the bottom to add more tiers. You can create custom tier systems like "Must Watch / Watch / Skip" or "Masterpiece / Great / Good / Meh / Bad".

Step 4: Export and Share

Once you're happy with your rankings, export your tier list:

  • Download: Save as a high-quality PNG image
  • Copy: Copy image directly to clipboard
  • Text: Copy as plain text list for forums/Discord

Add a personal watermark with your social media handle to get credit when your tier list is shared!

How to Use Atlas

Discover Global Media Preferences

Atlas is an interactive world map showing what movies, anime, games, and books are most loved in each country. It's a community-driven project where users vote on and add titles to represent their country.

Exploring Countries

  • • Click any country on the map to see its top-ranked media
  • • Switch between Map View (2D) and Globe View (3D interactive globe)
  • • Browse rankings for movies, anime, games, and books separately
  • • See what's trending in different regions

Contributing to Your Country

To vote or add titles, you'll need a free Fanakin account. Once signed in:

  1. Click your country on the map
  2. Vote on existing titles by clicking the upvote button
  3. Add new titles by clicking "Add Title" and searching
  4. Your first vote/add locks you to that country permanently (spam protection)

Note: You can only vote and add titles for one country. This ensures authentic local rankings and prevents manipulation.
